HDD was the chosen method for installing this brine outfall pipeline on the spectacular rural coast of WA. Taking advantage of the benefits of trenchless in order to preserve the coast and shore environment, the project involved drilling the HDD from the land side rig, before connecting and installing the product pipe via barge operations.
FPS assisted by providing a trenchless engineering and design suite including profile and alignment, hydrofracture, anchor and pullhead drawings and calculations, installation calculation, drilling fluid plan, and more. Contractor UEA navigated complex ground conditions, the rugged coastal environment, and the inherent challenges of ocean outfalls in the construction phase, successfully executing the project in July 2022.
