We’re pleased to share some more good news in HDD – this time, it’s a Trenchless Australasia feature article on the innovative Isle of Capri project.

Isle of Capri, which involved the relocation of underground services including the sewer rising main, included a major HDD crossing of the Nerang River in difficult sand conditions, amongst a very high density of existing services.

Creative collaboration between Pipeline Drillers as contractor and the City of Gold Coast as client was a major factor in the project’s success. The innovative design on this project included a combined radius under the river section, as well as an additional horizontal radius on the exit section. It’s a great example of client and contractor thinking outside the box on the possibilities of HDD design.

We’re proud to have provided trenchless design services for this HDD project, and to have worked with the experienced project teams to such a positive outcome. We congratulate the Pipeline Drillers and City of Gold Coast teams on the successful execution of this complex job.
